KINTEX(Korea International Exhibition Center) is Korea’s largest and newest international exhibition and convention venue as well as a joint investment among KOTRA, Gyeonggi provincial government and Goyang city, which was purpose-built to resolve the issues of event space shortage in Korea and to internationalize Korea’s exhibition industry.
‘KINTEX 1(the 1st venue)’ was opened back in April, 2005 with the total indoor exhibition area of 53,541m2 comprised of 5 exhibition halls. The venue serves as a wonderful place to stage the shows of heavy and large exhibits (5tons/ m2) or various types of events and meetings. ‘KINTEX 1’ also has about 3,000 m2 site for outdoor events and exhibitions and 23 dividable meeting and conference rooms including a multi-functional grand-ballroom for 2,000 people.
Together with the opening of ‘KINTEX 2(the 2nd venue)’ on September 28th, 2011, KINTEX is luring lots of world-scale international exhibitions, conferences and events with additional 54,508 m2 of indoor exhibition area comprised of another 5 exhibition halls, over 15,000 m2 of outdoor event area and 17 dividable large-size meeting and conference rooms including a spacious multi-purpose event hall for 6,000 people.
‘KINTEX 2’ was built as a four-story exhibition and convention center on a total site of 200,566 m2. Korea has become one of Asia’s leading exhibition and convention countries with the completion of KINTEX, both venues of which cover the indoor show space of 108,049 m2.
The role of KINTEX is to serve as a trade marketing business venue for both leading local and overseas companies by attracting and developing world class tradeshows and conventions through its global and domestic marketing activities.
